1ST Special Forces Operational Detachment

Mission Statement

Welcome to the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment (1st SFOD-DTS) —commonly known as (DTS) on XBOX live and Gamebattles.com,  using elite battle tactics and strategy, we outthink and outmaneuver the enemy. We do not favour quick, fast attack battles and would much rather win through the implementation of elite battlefield tactics rather than fast, decisive victories.

We are an elite gaming community always striving to set the standard of excellence with our members for our members. We constantly make every effort to identify and encourage each member through our personal leadership and structure by fostering skills and friendships. We are a elite group of players from around the world. We rely on our tactics and above all teamplay. We are competive, but we show respect to all players and clans when competing. Were not only here to have fun but win also.

To actively encourage and distribute fair, fun and skilled play by example. To offer a sensibly-minded group of friends who game for any and every reason, from fierce competition to mindless slaughter for mindless fun.

We are a hot headed passionate clan, with strong roots and high morals, loyalty towards (1st SFOD-DTS) comes first. You don't have to be a good player as that can come in time, all you have to be is thick skinned strong willed and mature!

To play competitive games against other clans and against all others who are up for it. We always ensure the teams are fair as possible and refrain from using certain strats that we feel are lame. We put loyalty above skill and expect that once a member joins they will stay with (1st SFOD-DTS) for a long time. We welcome all aplicants .

Clan Creed

I am a Special Forces Operational Detachment soldier. A professional! I will do all that my clan requires of me.

I am a volunteer, knowing well the hazards of my profession. I serve with the memory of those who have gone before me. I pledge to uphold the honor and integrity of all I am - in all I do.

I am a professional soldier. I will teach and fight wherever my clan requires. I will strive always, to excel in every art and artifice of war. I know that I will be called upon to perform tasks in isolation, far from familiar faces and voices, with the help and guidance of my God.

I will keep my mind and body clean, alert and strong, for this is my debt to those who depend upon me. I will not fail those with whom I serve. I will not bring shame upon myself or the clan.   I will maintain myself, my arms, and my equipment in an immaculate state as befits a Special Forces Operational Detachment soldier.

I will never surrender though I be the last. If I am taken, I pray that I may have the strength to spit upon my enemy.  My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.

I am a member of my clan's chosen soldiery. God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.

Values

LOYALTY

Bear true faith and allegiance to the Clan, the
Unit, your company and other soldiers.

Stand by your soldiers' mistakes – they can’t learn without making a few. Take pride in their accomplishments and ensure your superiors hear about them. Make sure they understand their mission, know how to accomplish it and why it is important. Know that you and your soldiers are part of a bigger picture and every soldier has a task that supports the overall objective. When the commander makes a decision, execute – don’t talk down about it either with your peers or your soldiers.

"Loyalty is the big thing, the greatest battle asset of all. But no one ever wins the loyalty of troops by preaching loyalty. It is given to him as he proves his possession of the other virtues."

BG S. L. A. Marshall

DUTY

Fulfill your obligations.

Take responsibility and do what's right, no matter how tough it is, even when no one is watching. Accomplish all assigned or implied tasks to the fullest of your ability. Duty requires a willingness to accept full responsibility for your actions and for your soldiers’ performance. Take the initiative and anticipate requirements based on the situation. You will be asked to put the Clan’s welfare and mission accomplishment ahead of the personal safety of you and your soldiers.

"The essence of duty is acting in the absence of orders or direction from others, based on an inner sense of what is morally and professionally right...."

GEN John A. Wickham Jr.

RESPECT

Treat people as they should be treated.

Respect is treating others with consideration and honor. It is the expectation that others are as committed to getting the job done as you are while accepting they may have different ways of doing so. You don’t have to accept every suggestion to show respect; just expect honesty and professionalism. Conduct corrective training with the end in mind — to help that soldier develop discipline and ultimately survive on the battlefield.

"Regardless of age or grade, soldiers should be treated as mature individuals. They are engaged in an honorable profession and deserve to be treated as such."

GEN Bruce Clarke

SELFLESS SERVICE

Put the welfare of the Clan, the Unit and your soldiers before your own.

What is best for our Clan, Unit and organization must always come first. Selfless service is placing your duty before your personal desires. It is the ability to endure hardships and insurmountable odds in the service of fellow soldiers and our clan.Placing your duty and your soldiers’ welfare before your personal desires has always been key to the uniqueness of the American NCO.

"The Nation today needs soldiers who think in terms of service to their country and not in terms of their country’s debt to them."

General of the Army Omar N. Bradley

HONOR

Live up to all the Clan values.

Honor is living up to the Clans Values. It starts with being honest with one’s self and being truthful and sincere in all of our actions. As GEN Douglas MacArthur once said, "The untruthful soldier trifles with the lives of his countrymen and the honor and safety of his country." Being honest with one’s self is perhaps the best way to live the Army Values. If something does not seem right to you or someone asks you to compromise your values, then you need to assess the situation and take steps to correct or report the issue.

"What is life without honor? Degradation is worse than death."

Lieutenant General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson

INTEGRITY

Do what's right, legally and morally.

Integrity obliges one to act when duty calls. Integrity means to firmly adhere to a code of moral and ethical principles. Living and speaking with integrity is very hard. You must live by your word for everything, no buts, no excuses. Having integrity and being honest in everything you say and do builds trust. As leaders, all soldiers are watching and looking to see that you are honest and live by your word. If you make a mistake, you should openly acknowledge it, learn from it and move forward.

"The American people rightly look to their military leaders not only to be skilled in the technical aspects of the profession of arms, but also to be men of integrity."

GEN J. Lawton Collins

PERSONAL COURAGE

Face fear, danger, or adversity (Physical or Moral).

Persevere in what you know to be right and don't tolerate wrong behavior in others. Physical courage is overcoming fears of bodily harm while performing your duty. Moral courage is overcoming fears while doing what is right even if unpopular. It takes special courage to make and support unpopular decisions. Do not compromise your values or moral principles. If you believe you are right after thoughtful consideration, hold to your position. We expect and encourage candor and integrity from all soldiers. Taking the immediate and right actions in a time of conflict will save lives.

"The concept of professional courage does not always mean being as tough as nails either. It also suggests a willingness to listen to the soldiers’ problems, to go to bat for them in a tough situation and it means knowing just how far they can go. It also means being willing to tell the boss when he’s wrong."
